"Dear Ros & Si
I finally have had a chance to listen to you in peace, after buying a CD from Ros in Bideford last week.
Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying it. Your gentle interpretation of 'The Foggy Dew' seems to fit both of you like a (velvet) glove and 'Jennys Mermaid' and 'Digging to Australia' are very clever and powerful songs; they would 'cut the heart out of a stone' as my Irish friend would say... definitely my CD of the moment."

John Wade- member of 'Shake-a-Leg' and co-organiser, Bideford Folk Festival

'England Needs Her Hedgerows' is an album displaying the full versatility of Simon and Rosalind’s song-writing, interpretation, singing and musicianship and contains many interesting pieces. There are tall tales and Broadside Ballads, humour and protest, slow-burners and roof-raisers, myth and legend. We have Rosalind singing in a wood in Dartington early one April morning to the bubbling song of a Blackcap. Another song is prefixed by it’s inspiration: an interview with older residents of the village reminiscing about the defunct cider industry. Also featured is a song Rosalind wrote with well-known local Jack Connabeer telling the story of why his small farm was forced to close down. The album includes contributions from two well-known folk luminaries some wonderful fiddle and mandolin work from Phil Beer and the masterful melodeon of Pete Coe. The cover is a photo of Dartington Village Hall.
